Description
Vinous – 91
The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs, a pure Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs Montagne de Reims and Montgueux, spent just over two years on lees. Youthful verve on the nose sprays with ripe Amalfi lemon and an overtone of ozone. The palate is light, bright and sprightly, alive with frothy smooth foam that underlines the wine’s youthfulness even more. A perfect apero style with a lip-smacking finish. Dosage is 10 grams per liter. (Lot 230748-3170) – Anne Krebiehl MW
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2030
Wine Enthusiast – 94
A fine, mature and structured Champagne, this is full of fruit but also with a crispness. Its mineral character has softened but still gives a fine texture. This fine wine, with fruit from the Côte des Blancs, is ready to drink.
Decanter – 90
Buttery with apple tart aromas, vanilla pastry and dried fruit. Flinty matches and grilled citrus on the palate. A mature and evolved style that is carefully dialled-in.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2026
Robert Parker – 91
Disgorged in 2022, the latest release of the Charles Heidsieck NV Blanc de Blancs is elaborated with 30% of reserve wines, of which 10% to 12% are aged in old barrels. It has a captivating bouquet with aromas of honeysuckle, lemon oil, citrus, peach, tangerine and delicate hints of pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, round and creamy, layered and elegant palate that finishes with chalky and brioche notes. A little time in the cellar will be more than profitable.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2030
